...it is clear that on all occasions officially sponsored by
Bahá'í Institutions or where the host is acting as a representative of the
Cause alcohol should not be served. In private homes or in the course of
business or professional activity it is left to the conscience of Bahá'ís
themselves whether they serve alcoholic drinks to non-Bahá'ís but the
obligation is very strong to observe the prohibition enjoined by Bahá'u'lláh.
